The Challenge Returns (With Your Ex)

After the long wait, it has returned! MTV has brought us 26 cast members broken into 13 couples, on it's 22nd season of The Challenge. Each couple has either previously been in a relationship or hooked up at some point.

Teams are as follows: CT & Diem, Dunbar & Paula, Dustin & Heather, Johnny & Camilla, Leroy & Naomi, Mark & Robin, Rachel & Aneesa, Ty & Emily, Tyrie & Jasmine, Vinny & Sarah, Wes & Mandi and Nate & Priscilla.

Communication is going to play a very important part in winning this challenge (as it does in every team-based event). Some of the couples are going to fare quite well with this and others (to no surprise) will have quite a struggle on their hands. There are a lot of bitter emotions involved with some of the cast members and meltdowns and explosions are sure to happen. I think this may just be one of the most drama-filled seasons yet. Feelings are one thing but placing money into the equation-that ups the ante. Just how much money? The winning team will split $300,000. That's a cool $150,000 a piece. Second place isn't too shabby either at $200,000, split two ways and third place follows up with $40,000 a piece.

Johnny and Camilla dominated the honey challenge. This earned them the coveted spot of this weeks power couple. They were left with the task of deciding who will face the losing couple in The Dome. The loosing couple? The rookies, Nate and Priscilla. Nate's performance was sad, falling into the water multiple times.

Johnny and Camilla decided to send Wes and Mandi into The Dome. The challenge involved dodging rotating poles in order to avoid falling off. Priscilla was the first one down and Nate held on for around forty minutes before his fall sent them packing. Wes and Mandi return back to the house carrying a chip on their shoulder but with their confidence renewed.

Do you have a favored couple, yet? I knew going into this that I was rooting for CT (like always). However, finding out that Diem is back just sweetens the deal. I am really hoping they can work through their issues. If we are lucky, they may even reconcile. Either way, they are a force to be reckoned with, that is for certain.
